Gnana Yoga

Gnana Yoga

A Gnana yogi should be able to control all the senses. The Jivatma has to get matured. In the second chapter, having explained karma yoga, Krishna explains the progressive steps involved in becoming a Gnana yogi. Krishna indicated the four different stages of maturity.

Try to control your senses

At the sight of the enemies, the tortoise will immediately withdraw its head and limbs to its shell. Similarly, at the sight of all the objects of pleasure, which are the enemies, a Gnani withdraws his senses into the shell.

Try to divert your whole attention

Even if we control our senses traces of likes towards the pleasures might be there. We have to divert our thoughts and focus it on something else.

Try to control your manas

Manas is the cause for the samsara as well as release from the samsara. Detach yourself from the cause for pain and pleasure.

Devoid of Raaga, Baya and Krodha

Raaga is a desire born out of a forthcoming pleasure.

Baya is a concern/fear of getting separated from our loved ones or about something which may be an obstacle in being united with our loved ones.

Desire leads to Krodha/anger when we can't get something that we desired.

Detach yourself from everything other than Atmasakshatkara

One who just experiences the pleasure of Jivatma is a Gnana yogi.

Controlling desire and senses

One has to control the senses to control the desire and has to control the senses to control the desire. Both are interdependent. But one should control the senses first which is not that easy. Indriyas are so strong that they will never allow you to concentrate on anything.

I am the one who has given these senses to you. You have rented your body to these senses which are your enemies and that too for free.

Redirect your senses towards Me

No need to shut your senses to control desire. I am not stopping your action. I just say Don't see, hear, and talk about what you should not. See and hear something wright. Talk something positive. Just rest your all wandering indhriyams on my Divine Body. I will take care and ensure that you will be able to control them. When you control your senses you can become a Gnana yogi. Then you will get Atma Sakshatkara.

Just Focus on Me through all your senses

My body is made up of Satva guna only. Your bodies are made up of trios Satva, Rajo, and Tamas. The more you experience Satva Guna the more you develop good habits in you.

See Me but not anything else that can take away your thoughts from Me.

Talk about My glories but not anything else that can drag your mind.

Hear Divine Music but not the one that has no connection with Me.

Perform Puja only to My Lotus Feet not to anyone else.

Enjoy whatever you want. Let it be Divine and not materialistic. The Divine experience automatically leads you to control your senses. Just rest all your senses with Me. I know how to control your senses.

Perfect Ladder to reach destination

  1. With the basic knowledge, Perform your prescribed duties which is Karma yoga. With Karma yoga, three strings are attached to it.

  2. The more you practice it you will get purified of all your dirt.

  3. In nirmala manas your intellect comes and settles.

  4. With that pure manas and unshakable intelligence meditate towards Me.

  5. Through this Gnana yoga Get into Atma Sakshatkara.

This ladder gets established by Krishna

in the second chapter of Gita.

Redirect your senses towards Me

In the third chapter, Arjuna asked Krishna if Karma yoga leads to Gnana yoga and then to Sakshatkara, Can I practice Gnana yoga directly?
