Bhaghavad Kripa

Our house golu. This year theme is  Bhagavad Kripa

Kripa has been categorized in various ways as Ishwara kripa (grace of God), variously Hari Kripa, Shastra kripa (grace of the Scriptures), Guru kripa (grace of the Guru) and lastly Atma kripa (grace of the Self).

Para roopam

He lives in the divine company of his consorts in Paramapadham – Sri Vaikuntham

*Vuha roopam*

For us to be able to reach him, he then took abode in the Ocean of Milk

Vibhava roopam

Willing to reside amongst us, he took numerous incarntions like Varaha, Rama, Krishna and others

Archa roopam

He also took the form of idols and entered temples

Antaryamitvam

Still feeling the searation, he entered into our hearts

He also comes to each and every one of our houses during Sri Jayanti

He has given us the scriptures mainly *Bhaghavad gita* to know Him fully and to gain knowledge about how to reach Him.

In order to show all to follow Acharyas, Bhaghavan himself had undergone panchachamskaram from Jagadhacharya Sri Ramanuja.

*Samashrayanam*

During this rite, the acharya initiates a person, irrespective  of sex, caste, social status etc., as his or her sishya. *It is a commitment from the disciple that he or she will live as per the wishes of the acharya.* Thus, the person gets the link to the Vaishnava tradition.

1) *thApa SamskAram* This is the first samskAram . The AchAryA embosses the impressions of Conch (Shankam) and Discuss (Sudarshana chakram)

on the left and right arms of the disciple, respectively.

*Thirumala Perumal got both Shangu and Chakram from Swamy Ramanuja*

*Pundra SamskAram*

The achAryA makes the disciple aware of the places in the body where the 'upavyUha' forms of the Supreme Lord Sriman

NArAyanA, are to be saluted.

All the 12 OOrdhvapundrams , starting from Lord KesavA should be adorned at appropriate places with proper

salutations.

*Thirukkurungudi Perumal got this samskaram done by Swamy Ramanuja by coming as his shishya Vaduga nambi.*

3. *Nama samskaram*

The AchAryA adds the name 'DAsA' at the end of the disciples name , to indicate that he is forever the *servant of Lord Sriman NArAyanA and Bhagavad RAmAnujA*. He becomes a 'RAmAnuja dAsan'.This is highly important.

Thirukkurungudi nambi got the Dasya namam as *Sri vaishnava nambi"* from Swamy Ramanuja.

4. *Mantra Samskaram*

The Rahasya traya ( 3 secrets) mantrAs are initiated to the sishyA .They are the AshtAksharam , Dvayam

and the Charama slokam .

Thirukkurungudi Perumal got Manthropadesam  from Emperumanar by giving his Simmasanam to Swamy and standing before Him with folded hands.

5. *Yajna SamskAram* the AchAryA teaches about Bhagavad ArAdhanA. ArAdhanA is the way of

worshipping Sriman NArAyanA.

Thirumala Perumal offered Mango to Swamy Ramanuja in a place called Muzhangal murichu (called as Mambazha Emperumanar sannidhi now in the walking path to Tirumala) by identifying him as sishya of Swamy Ananthazhwan, one  of Swamy Ramanuja's sishyas

Arangan himself appeared as a sishya in front of Sri Manavala mamunigal, recited *Srisailesa* Tanian and offered His *Adisesha peedam* as Guru dakshina to Him.

In all ways, He clearly showed us we have to follow Acharyas.

Sharanagati mahatvam

Saranagathi

Draupadi manasamrakshanam and Gajendra moksham

As Krishna says to Arjuna in the final chapter of the Bhagavad Gita, Verse 18.66, "Setting aside all meritorious deeds (Dharma), just surrender completely to My will (with firm faith and loving contemplation). I shall liberate you from all sins. Do not fear."[5]

One who realises Him truth fully - will get moksham
